"The Rubens is a very nice upscale hotel with a great location in the heart of Westminster and literally across the street from Buckingham Palace. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable although very small. The food, unfortunately, is very mediocre although priced as if it was excellent. It was but I was charged extra. I was also charged to store our luggage after we checked out. We had an afternoon train to another destination but stored our luggage until then. The breakfast buffet was displayed beautifully every morning with little omelettes, an assortment of breads, pastries, deli meats and cheeses, fresh fruits and vegetables, yogurt and cereals. "I arrived with two 50lbs (23kg) checked bags (I was in Italy for a month). I had to go up 4 steps pulling them up in order to check in. I was given a room on the 7th floor. The elevator only went up to the 6th floor so I had to go up 22 stairs with my luggage, a backpack and a bag. The AC didn’t work and they had a fan in the room. "Staff, (Sid) was so nice, early arrival, . I was exhausted and he was able to secure me a single to crash in until my room was ready at 11 am. There are no amenities. This place is bare bones . It’s nicely decorated, but bring your own pillow. Beds and pillows are not comfortable."

"the hotel doesn't have stair case, but the front desk staff, she is kind enough to help with our luggage to the 6th floor although the room is small, but it is so comfy with basic amneties. the shower room/toilet is super clean, and the water pressure is good it worth its price"
