"So it took me about 20 minutes to get into the property because they don’t have staff in on a Sunday- the intercom doesn’t then allow entry into the building. After a long wait and conversation that basically made me feel like an inconvenience for staying there- eventually I get into the building and at this point I have a surprise pre-authorisation to do of £70 where I have to read my card details to a lady who clearly has random people in the room with her- not thrilled about that.

"Having stayed on one of hottest days of year the air conditioning in bedrooms was extremely welcome and efficient. I thought uk king size beds would be standard in hotels. Not used to a double bed but it was clean and comfortable. Bathroom spotless but struggled to access the shower over bath as you had to step in onto slope at end of bath. If you have even a minor disability then try to get an accessible room..
The pool was a good size and well maintained as was gym. Good sized pool towels....

"The reason I gave it a bad rating was there IS NO AIR CONDITIONING. It was 82 degrees in our room. They gave us a fan but all it did was blow hot air. It was 95 degrees outside. I realize this was an unusually hot week but that was not acceptable for me.
Kuddos for the staff for understanding and refunding the remainder of my stay.

"I loved this hotel. A+ staff. Rooms were bigger than any other I'd stayed in in London. Yes, It's not in downtown London, but if you walk 10 minutes you're at the Elizabeth Line that takes you right in. OH and the Elizabeth Line runs all the way to the airport. This was a great find!"

"It was really unfortunate that there had been a heat wave which killed the aircon for a lot of rooms - mine included. So hot and uncomfortable without it but I realise that this is possibly not the norm for the hotel. Staff of course were powerless.
Front of house staff (doorman) was a little rude to us on arrival which surprised me. Other staff were lovely.
No water in room. No bathroom amenities other than a shower cap.
Breakfast buffet average for a 4+ star hotel. Coffee was pretty...

"We had a delightful one night stay at the Rubens, centrally located right across from Buckingham Palace’s Royal Mews or stables. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the breakfast was served in a gorgeous room with booths and chandeliers. We were traveling with our teen son so the suite with a pull out couch made it a high value fit for us so we could stay in one room. The room decoration was festive and royal feeling. The sweet baked goods were a pleasant surprise. Would definitely stay here...
