"Stayed in Room 2722 (Business Suite) on 21 June 2025 — extremely spacious, spotless, and impeccably maintained. A true 5-star experience. Check-in by Shermin was smooth and professional; she was warm, attentive, and made me feel genuinely welcomed.
High tea was outstanding — far better than Hilton KL — with exceptional service from friendly, attentive staff. Huge compliments to Vicky, who once again went above and beyond. He remembered my pillow preferences and even sent four extra bottles of water without me requesting — an incredible touch showing true dedication to guest comfort.
Special mention to Alice at Shang Palace — exceptional service without pushing upsells, attentive and knowledgeable, making the dining experience very enjoyable. Regret not having the bird’s nest available as it requires 24-hour advance booking.
Check-out was fast and seamless. Breakfast was delicious, with a special mention for the sausages at Lemon Garden — presumably homemade — which, to date, I’ve only seen at Shangri-La. A rare standout in hotel dining!
Swimming pool is small but clean and functional — ideal for a quick dip.
Overall, this stay exceeded all expectations. From front office to housekeeping, every staff member delivered excellence. Special compliments to Sheila from the call center and Mia from reservations — both were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and proactive.
Highly commendable team. Shangri-La truly remains a benchmark for world-class hospitality.

2. I had requested a smoking room in my reservations & even sent a message to remind. I received an email back saying allocation is based on availability.
But during check-in I was informed that the whole hotel is non-smoking. Would be good if I was informed of this prior so I can manage expectations. "
"Property start to rundown. Used living room restaurant for breakfast and high tea. It is not great, foods are not fresh, no service attitude. Table and placemat are not clean properly. Room phone are not working even after told the front desk, hence not able to order IRD. "
"Thrilling experience for this stay from FO check in to check out very professionally executed. Special thanks to Farah Front office by ensuring my rooms are feather item free and 2 hard pillow was placed in prior to my check in. On 25/5 Housekeeping the male Nepalnese (team leader i presumed) was very attentive and attention to detail by showing me the room feature especially lighting switch to which i have trouble to locate for the first night, he keeps checking about my well being because he saw my feet got burnt marks by hot water. The room is very clean and neat as per my liking.
Pool was outstanding but 1 family of 6 (local) brought in mcd, coffee, donuts at the raised deck opposite the toilet was very annoying, leaving rubbish behind, pool staff trying to talk to him but he kept argued. Signboard stated clearly no outside food!
Breakfast was so basic but good.
Again hightea set in lobby lounge never disappointed me, making me coming back for more. Pastries and savory bites are superb this time. I got 2 jungle bird glass , very unique. Im coming back again in June 25 and reservation been confirmed. My family very happy for this stay. Thank you so much for Ms Farah, Housekeeping and lobby lounge both ladies (one lady with spec chinese and malay ladies) making your hotel guests experienced a memorable and thrilling encountered. "Everything is good, just the lightnings in the bathroom are a bit too dark, the eperation of tv was clearly instructed, it cause a few calls and a visit by the mainrenance team, can be avoided by just a short instructions note the room.

"doesn't match the 5-star hotel status. Only 2 lines for check in, where 1 line is for priority members, and both lines wait for their turn for approximately 10-15mins each guests.
I do not know why check in takes this long.
When it is my turn, it is the same, where the staff just stares into the computer for 10 mins.
Furthermore, any requests that were made before my arrival was not noted although the staff has remarked that she will put a note on my booking. None of the staff found any notes for my booking.
Room is also dusty, and the toiletries tray is full of dust.
I will not stay here again."
