Breakfast is reasonably good but can be a bit crowded on long weekends. Good seafood restaurants in Tan jungle Lumpur are close by.

"Perfect for bajet holiday.. "
This is the 2nd time for us to check in at arenaa batik. The hotel easy to find. Breakfast provided just simple dishes but still worth with the amount that we've paid. Iron, praying mat, kettle & cup..among the important item that i need whenever going for holiday; we can get it here easily in the room. So i was satisfied and probably arenaa batik will be our 1st choice everytime we went to kuantan. :)

The hotel is comfortable but the location is at a quiet spot about 15 minutes drive to the city centre. It should not be a problem for travellers driving or riding.

"Good location close to City"
Check in process took too long. We arrived about an hour earlier but had to wait more than 2 hours later to get to our rooms. Hand sink had a big water leak underneath, and a plumber was sent to fixed it. However, he left without any repairs but came back after 10 minutes with one bath towel to lay down on the floor. There was another water spot near the door entrance. The leaks was coming from the floor above our room. Nothing was done either. The breakfast selection was reasonably plenty, however, we didn't enjoy at all because the dining room was full of flies.

"Short retreat"
The apartments are well appointed. We were in a two room apartment, with a good size two door fridge. There was also a micro wave oven, which would work wonders for holidays. The breakfast spread was not wide, ha ha, but it was accommodating, there were generous plates of beef salamis replenished. You have to catch the beach early in the morning or all the way to sun down. Hardly any other activity at the beach. Make your own fun. But the swimming pool facilities were awesome. They have separate pools, with a giant pail water fall on one side, and two medium size slides (manned) on another. More that enough to keep the younger ones happy. Outside the residence was the 7 Eleven, which means - easy snack. Yup, would come back again.

    About Kuantan

Over the past decade, rapid development has pushed Kuantan into the Malaysian East Coast’s most important social and economic hub. Though it is not renowned for tourism, there are still a phenomenal range of landmarks and highlights ready to be uncovered here. Many activities are centred on the stunning beaches that hug the town, but mosques and natural splendours also play an important role.

    Don’t Miss

Kuantan boasts an exciting array of attractions that will entertain tourists for days on end.

The golden beaches that flank Kuantan are undoubtedly the city’s highlight. There are several beaches just minutes from the downtown area including Teluk Cempedak and Batu Hitam. However, there are other sites like Cherating, which is a popular beach town some 30 minutes from downtown Kuantan. There is a magnificent Club Med hotel located here.

Parks and natural landmarks also entice travellers. The Elephant Sanctuary is the perfect place to witness elephants in a safe environment, and the Teruntum Mini Zoo boasts an impressive night safari. Close to the beach at Cherating is a rare turtle sanctuary too, where sea turtles venture to lay eggs each year. Naturally, this landmark is well protected. Several waterfalls, including the picturesque Sungai Pandan Water Fall and Jerangkang Water Fall, will lure nature lovers too.

The city’s well-known State Mosque is found in the heart of the downtown area, and welcomes hundreds of visitors daily. Close to the mosque stand a large number of colonial-style buildings that are also well worth exploring.

    Restaurants and Bars

The most popular foods sold in Kuantan are the simple yet satisfying salted fish snacks. Fish are salted and sun-dried before being sold throughout Kuantan. Malaysian style satay and roti dishes are sold everywhere by street vendors, and local Indian restaurants are popular also; they commonly serve dishes like tandoori chicken and nasi kandar. One of Kuantan’s more renowned dining areas is along Jalan Tun Ismail, where dozens of magnificent restaurants await.

When it comes to shopping, Kuantan does not lack possibilities. There are several large malls located within the city. The East Coast Mall is one of the newest shopping spots on offer, boasting plenty of fashion labels and restaurants, including Giordano and Samsonite. Berjaya Megamall is older, yet it still welcomes thousands of shoppers daily. Teruntum Complex is the oldest major mall in the city, but is currently undergoing a facelift to help with future growth.
