Our recent stay at the Rocana Hotel was unfortunately quite disappointing. While some members of staff were fun, friendly, and welcoming, others came across as the complete opposite, which made the overall experience feel inconsistent. The location itself is good and convenient, however the parking situation was frustrating. Although the hotel advertises parking, spaces are extremely limited and availability is very hit and miss. On more than one occasion, we had to park on the street and get up early in the morning to move the car before parking enforcement hours began, which was far from ideal. The room itself was a good size, however it felt very tired and in desperate need of remedial work and redecoration. This was also true of many of the common areas beyond the reception area, which appeared worn and poorly maintained. There were several cleanliness and maintenance issues that should not really be present in a hotel of this standard, including stained bed linen, towels that were supposed to be white but are now shades of grey/cream, cracks in the walls, a rotten bathroom door frame, mould in the bathroom, and an ill-fitting toilet seat. Overall, the property feels neglected and in need of significant refurbishment and better upkeep. With investment and more consistent customer service, the hotel could have potential, but sadly the current condition did not meet expectations.

Convenient location, near Kuantan City Mall with many choices of eating places. Bright, clean, but hotel lift could be improved. If the guest did not press the button properly, he could be waiting a longer time. Staff was alert to that. Toothbrush, room slippers were provided on request. No hand soap at basin but need to take from shower area.

I stayed for Two Nights. The first night at Even numbers room n the view is an adjecent building. The odd numbers room with better city view. Avoid also connecting room as u can hear very clear ur neighbours whisper.

Great Value, Excellent Hotel

Excellent hotel for the 3 star rating. Room was clean although 1 corner in the room was a bit dusty. Breakfast buffet was included with our room package. The spread was typical Malaysian food along with some continental breakfast items including egg dishes. Overall taste is good, though everything seems to be a bit too sweet for my palate. Ample parking was available around the hotel. It is a mix of public parking lot and hotel basement parking. Basement parking entry was badly constructed. The downward ramp was too steep to be coupled with the bump at the entry. My MPV that was a bit laden with luggage and passengers gets it's underbody scraped each time we drive into the basement parking.
