"Very very busy place - staff booking in on reception were stressed and we were left with no attendance for 15 minutes. Apart from that hotel was OK."

"Clean room nice just needed some tlc, the bathroom door was damaged and needed the hinge repairing also the little fold out desk need the hinge replaced. It was clean pleasant, shame no tea or coffee facilities unless you pay in reception"

The Tower Hotel, by Thistle

"Room 673 was appalling, black mould all around the bath, windowsill was dirty and stained, tiles in the bathroom were broken, cracked and had been covered in lumpy uneven grout. The mirror was smeared and dirty. TV didn’t work. Wardrobe doors were very difficult to open and close as they Diddy seem to fit properly and all the paintwork was chipped, dirty or worn away completely. Receptionist was very helpful and changed our room to 375, this was marginally better but the bed was awful, sagged in the middle, 2 nights and my back was sore! No plug for the bath and a huge crack/water mark in the ceiling. Would not recommend this hotel, absolute rip off to be honest. Only positive was a good breakfast and a helpful receptionist. The concierge was a dreadful man, we asked at reception for a usb adaptor and was told to ask the concierge, which we did, he said he didn’t have any, when we told him we were referred to him by the receptionist he said “I’m not surprised, she knows diddly squat” So unprofessional."

"Rooms are small but are sufficient for what you are paying for. They mention that they have AC, however, when turning it on it will not cool the room very much and will turn off randomly. Our bathroom was not cleaned very well upon arrival but the beds were clean. No safe in the rooms aswell. During the evening, security remains at the front door which makes people feel more safe. Location is great if you want to be central."

"I stayed in a Premium Room, which was surprisingly spacious and more comfortable than I had expected. Overall, the room was very pleasant; however, the placement of the towels and towel hook inside the toilet area felt unusual and was somewhat inconvenient. One of the hotel’s strongest attributes is its excellent location, with easy access to transportation. The staff were also consistently friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Unfortunately, we experienced a significant issue with the air conditioning. Neither my room nor my friend’s room had functioning air conditioning for the first five nights of our stay. This was extremely frustrating and took far longer than expected to resolve. That said, I appreciate that management ultimately acknowledged the problem, offered a sincere apology, and provided a partial refund to compensate for the inconvenience. Their efforts to address the situation were appreciated, even though the resolution took longer than it should have."

"Our room was nice, clean and everything was recently renovated. Our room was upgraded to a bigger room with 2 beds. The bathroom was spacious. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. The staff was helpful and friendly. Just 2 things we didn't like -- being in the basement below ground - granted there were windows in the bathroom and in the room. There was an automatic light and bathroom fan that would go on every time there was movement in the room - including in the middle of the night. I suppose this was done because there was a step down from the main room into the bathroom and to ensure that guests could see the floor and not fall or forget there was a level difference."

"Courteous staff, excellent dinner and dessert. Lovely room and very comfy bed for wearily travelers. Our second visit to a royal Horseguards hotel. It’s is situated in an excellent location for easy access to sights along the Thames, London Eye, Big Ben and more!"
