"I would highly recommend the ranch for the most authentic experience imaginable of life in the Wild West: wood cabins, wagon rides, cowboys training horses and country songs around a fire at night. Casey, the resident cowboy, made it particularly special with his singing, entertaining and general engaging manner. Only thing that could be improved is the food, but was traditional cowboy cuisine."

Only disappointing part was that there isn't a restaurant there or a bigger assortment of breakfast food. The little coffee cart was cute and fit the ambiance. "Elk Trace Bed and Breakfast was an incredible experience. The "big" house was incredible. Like a combination of a cabin / manor house. Beautiful on the outside and inside, nestled on 102 acres of pristine Colorado (San Juan Forrest) wilderness yet still fairly close to civilization in Pagosa Springs. The room was perfectly sized with a king bed. The place is dog friendly. The owner, Evelyn, even volunteered to watch one of our yappy dogs while we went on a carriage ride around the property...
