He claimed the hotel does not accept Apple Pay or tap payments, only physical cards. However, I clearly saw the Apple Pay logo displayed on their machine. He still refused and would not let me check in. As a result, I had to carry my luggage around outside for more than five hours until my friend arrived so we could try checking in again. This time, there was a different front desk staff. They told us they have always accepted Apple Pay or tap payments and that there is no such rule requiring a physical card. We were able to pay the $100 deposit with Apple Pay smoothly without any issues. We will definitely file a complaint against that male receptionist.
