"The staff are top notch, and the hotel is right near the Hakone Yumoto line with multiple options for travel that use the Hakone Free Pass. There are many restaurants near. Bathroom was a little dated, but everything was immaculate. Would recommend. "

"The room was spotless, the linen was comfy and smelled fresh. The stuff was super polite. We enjoyed the in-suite onsen very much, also impressed by the artistically presented delicious half board meal and the breakfast. "

"This was a lovely hotel. The shuttles they run are very helpful. The restaurant was delicious. The foot bath happy hour outside looking at the river was fantastic. We had a "private onsen" room but it was really a bathtub on the deck (more sento), not groundwater, but still very nice. The hotel onsen is also a very nice spa, but not an onsen in the traditional sense. The pricing was higher when we checked out than represented on Expedia so FYI. "

"The room was spotless and large, overlooking the mountains. The staff were amazing and extremely attentive always looking to be helpful. If the lobby is busy they still greet you at the door and lead you to a place to sit while waiting to check-in. The onsens were extremely clean and tidy. One staff member was usually present in the change room to tidy up and restock and also to walk through the onsens to ensure people were following the rules. The views from both public onsens were 10/10 (they swap male and female public onsens overnight so both onsens can be experienced). They also have unlimited free vending machine ice cream. Their dinner buffet may be the best thing I’ve ever eaten in Japan - I could’ve cried the first time I had their fatty tuna nigiri. I still think about the food at Tenyu weeks later. When you leave the staff wave goodbye and bow to your complimentary shuttle bus. Amazing service worth every penny. I’ll be back for sure! "

"A delightful cabin next to the lake with views of Mount Fuji (although our ground floor apartment had restricted views because of the trees - but not all ground floor apartments had this problem). The hot spring bath and foot spa were utterly delightful though and the projector was a nice touch to relax after a day of walking, even if I would have rather been looking at Fuji, my daughter loved it. "

"I loved my stay at Hakone Yutowa and would like to visit again sometime. The library and the outdoor foot onsen were two of my favourite spots. Huge room which was a welcome change compared to other cities. Walkable to Gora station."
