Top Hakone Family friendly Hotels

Tsuki no Koigokoro

2.5 star property
7.0 out of 10, Good, (44)
"Since we paid for this hotel the same that we paid for a nice new hotel in Central Tokyo, I was expecting at least the basic service. The staff didn't speak any English with the exception of a lady who was called on the phone to give us basic information, but she said she was taking the day off. Thing is, she seemed to also take off the day after, and the one after as well. We had to prepare our own beds, with zero guidance on how to set up a Japanese futon. The hotel room smelled like mold, and...

Hotel Kajikaso

4.0 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, (291)
"This Classic and traditional Japanese resort was wonderful! We decided to splurge and booked w half board- the breakfast and Dinner - all very traditional Japanese food, tasty and beautifully presented. We reserved the Japanese style room and enjoyed the comfortable futon. The Ofuro was empty when we went so we really enjoyed the ofuro - make sure to check out both the 6th floor and 2nd floor ofuro (M/F switch times). It was so close to the hakone yumoto station where it was convenient as the...

"The hotel staff is amazing and the amenities are nice for what we are paying. It’s very
family friendly
- in the buffet restaurant they have cute dinnerware sets and bibs for
kids
and actual high chairs (the ones people use at home) and baby wipes warmed in small buckets of warm water. Love the option of private bath (additional 1500¥) and free massage chair use. "

Fujiya Hotel

5.0 star property
9.2 out of 10, Wonderful, (659)
"My wife, son and
family
love the Fujiya. I have stayed there many times over 30 years. My wife (Japanese national) and son (Japanese national) and I (British national) went to the Fujiya this weekend. My wife went to the check-in desk. The male desk clerk told her, "we would like to copy your passports". Why? Because I booked through English-language Expedia? This request was nonsense. We were very upset. I am an official resident of Japan for 35 years. I am an 永住者. The desk clerk gave no...

The Prince Hakone Lake Ashinoko

4.0 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, (766)
"While this hotel is at some distance from Motohakone (20mins easy walk on a mostly flat road), we found the property absolutely gorgeous, the lakeside views priceless, and the onsen just perfect. It was my friend's first time at the onsen and he loved it! The service was also topnotch and the hotel restaurants were both very good (we tried the French cuisine as well as the traditional Japanese cuisine). I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for an all-inclusive, relaxing vacation in...

Wisterian Life Club Verde no Mori

3.5 star property
7.4 out of 10, Good, (348)
"The room was really spacious and provided us the option of having western and Japanese style room and we really liked it. We didn’t use the facilities because of lack of time but the hotel has pool and public baths. Location wise the hotel is a 10min walking from the bus stop (Hakone free pass) or 4 mins walking from the other bus line in Hakone. There aren’t many restaurants around so plan ahead as the only ones around closed around 8pm."
