"Came for the weekend as friends were attending the Critical Role event in the castle. Room was spacious, clean, inviting and well stocked. The bed was very comfortable but the pillows are horrendously soft and give no support whatsoever. We had a fan in the room, but it was not very effective and it would’ve been much better if there was aircon in the room. Breakfast was lovely but a bit pricey at £17.50 each."

"Edinburgh is a city that if your visited it once , you'll be coming back many times. And this hotel catches the spirit of Edinburgh completely. Location can't possibly be better. We walked everywhere, the best food is there, the best attractions are steps away. Because we stayed there two times, one before Glosgow and the second after, we sampled two different rooms and were very happy with both. The views from the windows were stunning. The beds were very comfortable. These people really understand the meanning of hospitality. The breakfast room is a work of art. Super cozy with increadible views, comfy armchairs and super delicious food . Their service is the next demention. When we walked out of Waverly Station and saw our hotel, we felt so home!!! There are million little things that made our stay so wonderful. Sweets, full free minibar, quiet pleasant music... Although everyone in this hotel was increadibly wonderful and this is our greatest thank you to them all, we have to say very very special thank you to the most wonderful ladies in the breakfast room And huge thank you to David. Professionalismat the highest level! In today's world when hotels demand that you do everything yourself, having an old world ambiance and care is extremely valuable. Thank you!!! Can't wait to see you all again!"

"Good property. No real complaints. Everything was clean and comfy. Tap was missing a part which caused it to splash everywhere and make a mess. No big deal, it's a bathroom. Upgraded to the suite, plenty of space. House wines are actually drinkable. Concierge friendly and useful Good location for accessing castle etc, obviously a bit noisy Fri/Sat/Sunday but nothing a pair of earplugs couldn't block. Not swanky, but doesn't fall down anywhere either."
