"My bijou little room was on the first floor of the inn (as opposed to some rooms they have in separate buildings). Quite a nice little room but no view and I had to climb onto the bed to open the velux window. When I opened the bathroom window I had unfortunate cooking smells from the kitchen extractor which was a few feet away, so I only opened it outside meal times. There was no information in the room so I had to wait until the morning to get the WiFi code - I think this should have been...

The staff were really attentive and extremely helpful, especially Usman who was on the front desk - he genuinely was the most helpful person I have ever dealt with when staying in a hotel. "We have stayed at Cantley several times over the years and have always found the staff to be pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately the cleaning standards need to be improved greatly, although our room was neat and tidy there were cobwebs and layer's of dust everywhere that clearly had not been cleaned for some considerable time. The accommodation may be old but there is no excuse for cleaning duties to be ignored, especially when you have paying guest's to be considered, so from that point alone...

"The setting for this hotel is exceptional- directly overlooking the Thames and open countryside. The hotel is conveniently situated, only a ten minute walk from the station and five minutes walk from the High Street. Lovely room, spotlessly clean, wonderful pool and good breakfast. Would highly recommend."

"Bathroom was not stocked with the usual (and expected) shampoo and conditioner; only one towel provided for two guests, and shower screen seal was hanging off. A tower stand was provided but not adequate for the size of the room and the outside ambient temperature (19 degrees overnight)."

"This is my hometown and I was visiting from Canada. Lovely room nice and clean. I ended up with an accessible room which was lovely but no drawers or cupboard to store clothes which was a bit odd. Front desk staff awesome and friendly lots of tea and coffee for the room The one gentleman in the restaurant made my stay with giving me ice and being so chipper they breakfasts are a fantastic deal I’ll be back Please consider placing fridges in the room! That was the only annoyance"
