"I stayed here for two nights for my daughter's wedding which was local. The rooms are clean with tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom had a bath and over bath shower. The furniture in the room was tatty and really needs replacing. The chair was worn and the veneer was coming off the bedside table however the bed was comfortable and I slept well. I would definitely stay here again. Staff were helpful and breakfast was good value for money. There is a Greene King public house which was handy and outside seating and tables available."

Village Hotel Reading

Village Hotel Reading

10/10 Excellent
"The hotel and all other considerations a great, what does let the hotel down is the poor breakfast, having stayed a number of times I have consistently found this wanting. I come up for work from Devon once a month and aesthetic and atmosphere are everything to me whilst I am away from home on Business. A good start to my day is also a requirement and this prerequisite is a good edible breakfast. I'm not going to get into the detail, everyone knows what a good breakfast looks like, it doesn't take much imagination, I am no food critic, but they are missing a trick here. I did eat the pervious evening in the hotel restaurant and found this to be satisfactory, my steak and frites was very nice. Yes a disappointing start to my working day. "
