"Everything was fine. Great room!!! Bed was great. Staff was very friendly. We found the walk to Tiger stadium was a little too far…we are 74 years old. So take that into consideration. "

"Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience. When we arrived, there was no A/C, and the elevators seemed unstable. I mentioned my concerns to staff and was told they had been fixed. Just a couple of hours later, my children and I got stuck in the elevator for 45 minutes and had to be rescued by the fire department. It was a scary experience, especially with kids. I hope management addresses these safety concerns, but based on our experience, I would not never take my family here again."

"I think most of the stay was great. We ordered breakfast in our room, and it was brought to us very quickly! The casino was easy to use in terms of the slot machines, and the staff in the bar area was very hospitable. My only complaint, would be that when I got there at 5:00pm to check in, my room was still not ready. I had reserved 3 rooms in total, and both of the other rooms were ready, but mine was not. "Everything in the hotel was impressive for the first stay"

"We’ve stayed here several times, which says something about the property. My one complaint was breakfast. Rather than the breakfast they used to provide, they now serve boxed food. We tried most of the choices, and none were great, some were awful. I’m sure there are a variety of reasons they use these boxed breakfasts and I suspect it’s a corporate decision, but don’t expect a fresh breakfast. Otherwise, it’s a good place to stay."

"The Island House Hotel was very nice, clean, conveniently located. We also enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea at the 1852 restaurant and had a good pizza at the Ice House in back. The room we had wasn't large but the bed was comfortable. The air conditioner didn't work too well but overall we had a great stay on the island."

"Very nice hotel. All the rooms seem to have an excellent view. Rooms are very large and clean. In room coffee was good. No coffee in the lobby though. The pool outside was great."
