"This is listed as a 3 star hotel. It is not. It is the most luxurious hotel we’ve stayed at, including 5 star properties. The room was amazing. The location was perfect. Although everyone in Japan seems extraordinarily nice, the staff here beat even that standard. There was not one second of our time at this property that wasn’t perfect. 10/10. "

"I rarely write reviews but have to for this as the property and the staff were amazing. I used to be in hotels and the upkeep on Hotel Musse has been amazing. Ie still looks and feels completely new. It was so quiet - despite being in the absolute thick of things. It is right on the main shopping strip - also right beside the Kamo and Pontocho alley and in bw 2 stations. "This property is very close to Kodai-ji, which was very convenient. Also, the host washed, dried, and folded our laundry (a family of 5) while we were out seeing the sites. This was incredibly helpful. Another highlight of our stay was the wonderful welcome tea and tasty breakfast provided during our stay. Although it was a bit more expensive than other options, these benefits were well worth the additional cost."
