Securing convenient places to stay is key when it comes to planning cheap holidays or luxury getaways. Luckily, Kyoto has approximately 344 accommodation, so you'll have loads to choose from.
If you're the type of person that can't fall asleep unless they have 1000 thread count sheets, why not nestle down in luxury at The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto (Kamogawa Nijo-Ohashi Hotori, Nakagyo-ku) or the Nazuna Kyoto Nijo-tei ~Service&Dedication~ (580, Kusuriyacho)? Alternatively, the Ryokan Yoshida-sanso (59-1 Yoshida Shimo-ooji-cho, Sakyo-ku) and the Kujo Stays (8, Higashikujo Nakatonodacho) are a couple of accommodation worth checking out if you're travelling on a budget.
A real highlight of any trip to Kyoto is Nijo Castle. If you'd like to stay within close proximity of this famous attraction, the Konruri-An Machiya Residence Inn and the Fushizome-an Machiya Residence Inn are both excellent options.
Based just 25 miles away, Itami Airport (ITM) is the most convenient terminal to your destination. Check that your seat belt is buckled and tear your eyes away from that in-flight film — your well-deserved trip to Kyoto isn't far off now!
