"Excellent place to stay in Gion. Really nice location, convenient. Attentive staff but they will not get in your way. Nice bathroom with a Japanese-style shower and tub area. Very clean and nice amenities. Although no breakfast provided, they provide suggestions and a convenience store is right across the street."

"We loved that the hotel was off the Shinkyogoku street where there was lots of shopping and dining, yet the hotel was quite beautiful and peaceful. Our room was clean and spacious and we made good use of washer/dryer to replenish for rest of our trip. Great place to stay in Kyoto!"

"Our stay at the Shijo Takakura Hotel grandreverie was great! It was the most memorable room of our trip to Japan, a great design and lots of space. The stone shower and bathtub were especially luxury. The staff was incredibly attentive. It's the one place we'd immediately go again!"

"Our stay in Kyoto at the Resi Stay was wonderful. We were able to send some of our luggage ahead, and it was waiting for us at the check-in counter across the street from the train station, which is where you check in. We stayed in 1F and it was huge and very quiet, and it had laundry. We loved exploring Kyoto from this location, as it's so close to a very cute part. We only wish we made a better plan for seeing the rest of Kyoto. It's big and spread out. "
