I was looking forward to stay in this hotel and I booked two suites for 3 persons. We arrived very early in the morning but were told that we are not able to check in until 4pm as the suite rooms are meant for their VIP members and 4pm check out is a privilege. However one lady at the reception told me that she can expedite a room for us to check in before lunch and she will give us a whatsapp call or message. We went out for early lunch and went to a shopping mall loitering around waiting for the whatsapp. But my whatsapp never ring nor received any message. We waited till almost 3pm and decided to make our way back to the hotel. When we reached, we were told the rooms are not ready. I asked a couple of times why then I was told one room will be ready, that question was being avoided - not just once but the multiple times I asked. Then after 30 minutes of checking and verifying and checking, we finally got 1 room key and had to wait for the other room. For the other room, I booked on expedia 2 nights but booked separately due to a last minute addition. The hotel got confused and I had to repeat to 3 different people about this situation - that I had 3 expedia bookings, 1 room for 3 nights, 1 room for 2 nights though separate bookings. When I went up to the room, I realised there was no extra bed so I called and then went down to ask for it. The manager then came out and explained the rooms are all for two to share and an extra bed is additional cost but they will give it to

Cockroach in the room
The breakfast was acceptable. The check-in process was slow than expected. There was a big cockroach entered the room and we were busy "fighting" it. I didnt really sleep well after that.

Love the property. A lot of food options in the vicinity. Located at a very vibrant part of Penang. The room is cosy, and huge and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Special mention that the room is very clean. Will definitely definitely stay here again.

Spacious, clean, bright, highly functional room with sleek modern decor. Excellent shower, ample closet space, comfortable bed with fresh clean bedding. Loved our room! The hotel staff are terrific and the doormen consistently provide a warm greeting. Although we never used the pool it was a nice facility with poolside eatery, three cushioned cabana type loungers and lush greenery. There was also a fitness center and both steam and dry saunas in the mens and ladies changing rooms. Very clean hotel with a good location. We used the Grab car service app to get around the city. Very affordable and dependable service. Breakfast buffet has everything for everyone and good quality food! We thoroughly enjoyed our daily breakfast and found it hard to choose what to eat with so much excellent food to select from! The staff are highly attentive, kind and helpful. Especially Jonathan who was a such a pleasure to talk to and who always gave correct information and good suggestions for seeing Penang. The hotel only serves coffee from pod machines so there is no true fresh coffee. Found this disappointing as a person who wants a good strong coffee to start the day. I found a place for great quality coffee that was about a three minute walk from hotel named Koffe Penang at 45 Jalan Anson. We had dinner in the hotel lobby level restaurant one night. We feel the chicken rendang dish was unsuccessful as the ginger & flower curry was too bitter. We suggest it either be renamed as it is

Excellent new hotel with nice gym fully equipped, and a pleasant male-female separate sauna and steam rooms which are hard to find. The 24 hour gym could use some cleaning as some dust can be seen accumulated in the corner. Pool water is very cold even with direct sunlight. Did not try the restaurants but would love to try next time.

I was very disappointed for 3 reasons and am unlikely to return to this hotel again. - Room still not made up by 5.40 pm (Essentially it was one guy got the whole hotel doing house keeping. Yes it was Raya but that’s no excuse to poorly manage deployment of staff) - Pool bar: advertised on website but has never opened. This is a miss -sell and misleading. - Gin bar - fully booked despite no notice given that booking is required. For a 3 star hotel to have a Gin bar is pretentious enough bit to then not even be able to go there is ridiculous. This is a facility they hard sell on the website so again - deliberately misleading. Staff are good, breakfast bland. Ultimately this is a 3 star trying to position itself as something it’s not. If you want a clean spacious room and that’s all then the hotel is fine. If you want the kind of experience they sell on the Marriott website- well that’s misleading so I would book elsewhere. Probably one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve ever had.
