"Room nice overlooking the lake area………..hotel now looking a bit old and tired……nice to sit outside around the decking overlooking the lake with a nice meal…….the problem with that was two local rats looking for scraps…..but what can you do it’s a countryside hotel ……still a nice place to stay and only 20 mins from brands hatch"

"This is the perfect place for relaxation, romance and restlessness. The food and drink is also amazing!! Only downside is very few pool side beds, otherwise absolutely perfect!!"

"It’s a proper old fashioned seaside hotel. Plenty of places to sit and chat and eat and drink. Friendly staff. The hotel is quite old so do not have plugs by the bed so if you need that for charging phones (or cpap machines) then bring an extension cord 😊 I was a solo traveller with a dog and people could not have been nicer. I can’t wait to return 👏"

"This is easily the best hotel in Rye, and, in my opinion, one of the best I have had the pleasure of staying at. Like many hotels the food was excellent, the service was excellent the rooms are beautifully decorated and the simple things like having a decent shower or bar are so well catered for. What sets this apart is the vibe of the place, you can feel the history, You can feel the culture that has been created in the team, who really understand customer service. "The spa is the only thing that saves this hotel as without it it would be a very poor hotel. Rooms are very dated, our bed was like a camp bed very uncomfortable. Breakfast in Sage took an hour to be served and it wasn’t even busy. Give staying guests at least the option to go get yoghurt and pastries etc. while they wait for the breakfast cooked meal, having to wait for everything to be served is really old hat these days. "Good location, with plenty of car parking, staff friendly and helpful. The spa service is great and reasonably priced compared to spa hotels. The one negative is the walls are thin and had a lot of noise, doors being slammed on my visit."
