"I rarely write reviews but I needed to express our extreme disappointment at the standard of the Rose and Crown Hotel in Tonbridge. The external elevations are very tired but when inside it gets far worse. As with the outside, paint is peeling off everywhere and it looks as though no maintenance or upgrading has been carried out for many, many years. However, the worst thing is the lack of cleanliness. "There were two members of staff who saved the day , the lady serving drinks in the bar at around 9pm and a young lady at breakfast who was very helpful serving us The room had a couple of problems."

"Debra and Drew were very welcoming hosts. We used The Barn as a lauch pad to visit Chartwell and Knole. Perfect choice. The accommodation was beautifully decorated and impeccably clean. We were spoilt for choice regarding local eateries. We chose The White Hart for dinner and it was top knotch. "

"We stayed at Salomons Estate as a group of 12 people. The grounds are lovely, and the facilities are well looked after considering the age and character of the property. The staff were really helpful throughout our stay. Everything was clean, and both the bedrooms and bathrooms were a good size. Although the rooms are a little outdated, the bedding was very comfortable, which made for a pleasant stay overall."

"dreadful English hotel - reminded me the "Faulty Towers". Hideous bathroom with water dribbling from the shower rather than flowing full stream; toilet that does not flush properly. Everything looked so old, decrepit and depressing; old dirty windows that was impossible to open during an extremely hot night; old sink with too separate taps - cold and hot water - Come on Britain - I thought we have done with the old "English things" like separate taps in the sink.
