"We stayed for one night at Aura Tachibana, and our arrival from Osaka was unfortunately delayed by 3 hours due to a tsunami but we informed the hotel ahead of time and they were very accommodating. The kaiseki dinner was amazing, so much food and beautifully presented. It was served in the restaurant (not in the rooms) with a lovely view of the mountains. "This was a unique and wonderful experience. We had never experienced a ryokan, but we enjoyed it for a night. Room gives a Zen vibe, and once we got the AC going, the heat was tolerable. But the rest of the hotel was quite warm! Dinner was fun, elaborate. Glad we wore the provided robes because no one was in street clothes. We rented the private spa, and that was relaxing.
