"I would say to everyone look beyond the bad reviews,the staff are very helpfull friendly and will do their best to facilitatee your reequests. The facility has changed since some of the bad reviews in that there is piwer during the day unless generator being topped up. "The Shangti-La is just a step up from other hotels. Yes, it's big and busy but the staff go out of their way to really spoil you. I'm vegan and they bent over backwards to ensure I had a great breakfast, sent soy milk to my room tweaked dishes so I ate well. And the location - oh my. We stayed in a garden room and could walk straight out looking at the sea. Room had a shower and a bath, was well stocked. Water in the fridge every day. Their Spa was great too. I can't think of anything bad about the place. We just didn't want to leave. "
