"The hotel was lovely, staff were very friendly and helpful, and the pool etc was excellent. However the bed was extremely hard which was very uncomfortable. It wouldn't put me off staying but i would make sure I took a topper myself. "

"Was really nice room, seaview but unfortunately scaffolding is still up but will be lovely when done. Room spacious, clean and newly painted. Bathroom looked new too and shower was really nice. "Friendly and helpful staff. Parking was pretty rubbish though, the car park only has a dozen or so spaces and getting a spot is pot luck, also a bit pricey at £25. The building itself is very big and beautifully decorated / furnished. Had a very nice stay. Although strange that check in is from 4pm, we have been to dozens of hotels and 3pm is generally check in time."

"The room was very clean, the bed was really large and comfortable, the receptionist we met on arrival and departure was very kind, friendly and made us feel very welcome, also the domestic team were equally helpful and friendly. We were able to book a late checkout at no extra cost which made our stay even better. We really enjoyed our stay here, and would definitely stay again when we visit York. "

"Was disappointed to find that there was no available gym in the hotel, even though it is advertised as such. The sofa bed in the room was broken, as was the air-conditioning. Staff attempted to fix it but didn’t make a difference. When we visited, there was a pile of mattresses sitting in the lobby. Surely there’s a better way to manage this. We shared our complaints with staff at the hotel but they showed little interest so I hope management will take note "
