Beautiful original Victorian hotel, bed rooms were well equipped, clean and modern facilities. My only criticism would be they were rather bland & a statement wallpaper as a feature wall or in the panelled areas would have lifted them to a different level!

Loved the location. Easy walk to the train station and into the medieval section of York. Beautiful and relaxing areas to sit and meet and friends near the lobby. Staff were very responsive and attentive to our needs.

Great staff & the hotel down stairs and around the grounds was beautiful. Once got to our room we were a little dissapointed - very small room, mould on bathroom ceiling, no lighting in half the room so couldnt see when ironing or to use full length mirror & couldnt hang clothes due to the kettle etc being directly under hanging rail. Dispite these things the room was clean and exellent location.

We had our wedding reception in the Oak room for 75 guests. Everything from start to finish was perfect. The support from planning this from Emily, all the event setup on the day, the welcome drinks, food, bar And all Staff were exceptional. We all Had an amazing time - thank you very much!
