The location is unbeatable—tucked away just far enough from the crowds to offer peace and quiet, yet steps from all the iconic sights of Venice. Every single person we interacted with was warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful with local recommendations and planning. They made navigating Venice so much easier and added a personal touch to our stay that we deeply appreciated. The hotel itself was immaculate—beautifully maintained, with charming details throughout that reflect the elegance and history of Venice. Our room was comfortable, quiet, and well-appointed, making it easy to relax after long days of sightseeing. In every way, the Royal Marco Hotel made our trip to Venice unforgettable. "We traveled as a family and had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Principe. The location is excellent—less than a 5-minute walk from the Santa Lucia train station, which was very convenient when arriving and departing the city. We had two rooms. Although they didn’t have a canal view, they were bright, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. One day, we did notice a faint onion smell when opening the window, but it was a one-time occurrence and didn’t impact our overall experience. Breakfast was one of the highlights: very complete and varied, with fresh fruit, real-tasting eggs (not the artificial kind!), a nice assortment of breads, and a good selection of drinks. It was also included in our reservation made through Hotels.com, which was a great plus. The hotel has direct access to the canal, which allowed us to enjoy beautiful views and experience a traditional Venetian moment, with gondolas passing right in front of us. While main attractions like St. Mark’s Square are about a 40-minute walk away, the walk itself is enjoyable and a great way to explore Venice’s charming streets. All in all, a very good option for staying in Venice, especially if you’re arriving by train and traveling with family."
