"Despite being a hotel that is quite old, we appreciate that the room was renovated to a modern look and we like the beddings and stuff. However the bathroom was a let down because sewage odour kept escaping through the floor traps. To cover the smell, the housekeeping use urinal mat, commonly used in public men's toilet urinals, as deodoriser, making not only the bathroom but the whole room (in fact the whole floor) to smell like public toilet."

"The hotel is under renovation so we could
not stay there. Called hotels.com but was put on hold for a ridiculous 92minutes. Agent said will look for a vacancy nearby the amir hotel and get back to me, but did not get back to us after waiting for close to 2 hours. Walk in to a nearby hotel and was immediately offered a room. Waste my time, international call time, money and most importantly ruined the trip for me and my girlfriend. I wish to speak to the higher up of hotels.com for compensation."

"If you are on a budget and just want a place to (try and) sleep in, this place might be for you. The unit we got was old and in an average condition, and had a pee-smelly toilet. The unit is connected to another unit by a thin wall, and we could hear every sound made in the unit next door. Needless to say, we didn’t sleep well. The balcony is also shared between 2 or 3 units, and nothing stops the neighbour from venturing right outside our unit.
