Hotels near Chinatown

"From the outside it may not look like much, with the open-air bar fronting the street, but walk past that & you find a very quiet & dignified lobby & reception area. This place has a lot of character, & it no doubt had an interesting previous life before becoming a hotel. Well situated in Chinatown. Check-in: quick & easy. We arrived mid-morning, so rooms not ready. They secured our luggage, then we explored the Chinatown area. Rooms have a certain charm. Very different in many ways from a typical hotel. The door of each was flanked by two chairs with stools. The rooms all face a central atrium that flows from the 2nd floor to the top, 6th floor. Our suites were on the 2nd floor. They were spacious, decorated with Chinese-influenced pieces. A sitting area, a king sized bed, & a large bathroom area that included separate facilities for tub, toilet and shower. NOTE: there is no external window in room, so no natural light in the rooms. There was a mosquito issue in one of our suites at night. That same room had no a/c on final night, nor did much of the hotel. Other room had too much a/c & had to constantly adjust it down. Breakfast buffet had lots on offer. Bar was hopping, with live music, nightly. Noise did not flow through to rooms, though. Staff attentive and friendly, concierge even took my husband to a barber across the street upon request."

"My husband and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary at Lebua at State Tower and had a beautiful cake, the most delicious chocolates and fruit deliver to our room as a gift. The room was spacious, quiet and had a wonderful river view. The shower had awesome water pressure and the tub was perfect. The TV channels were great as they had quite a few movies in English for free on the menu. The hotel location is great and walking distance to IconSiam Mall with a 10 baht per person water taxi. Lots of great restaurants in the area as well as spas and shopping. The ride to the airport was approximately 30 minutes in the early morning. "
