"This place feels like an odd mix — some aspects feel like a hip boutique hotel while others seem a bit “budget.” There is no actual lobby or dedicated hotel staff in the evening, so you collect your key from the large bar on the ground floor. The rooms are nicely decorated and well appointed (eg, nice bathroom fixtures, Nespresso machine in room), though quite dark. Good location in historic city centre. Nice touches like a refrigerator on the corridor that has bottles of cold filtered water."

"I stayed while the hotel was undergoing renovation (the restaurant). It was nevertheless quiet, I had an excellent salad and delicious breads with room service, the staff was very warm and friendly and went out of their ways to help. They even allowed me to check in hours early! The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning very strong (could be adjusted in the room exactly to my liking) while it was very hot outside in July. Excellent! "The staff in the restaurant and pool weren’t very proactive. The service was good but very slow and it felt like there was only 1 staff member at breakfast and dinner who knew what to do whilst they others were very nervous and timid and unable to act proactively. The room was lovely and everything I hope for buy taps and toilet flush had seen better days - this was in the main house."

"Here’s a polished, short review you can post: Stayed 11th July – absolutely faultless. We were at Ascot during the day and came back to the Royal Foresters for food and football in the evening, and honestly everything was spot on. Check‑in was smooth, the room was lovely, the staff were brilliant, and the atmosphere for the match was perfect. Breakfast in the morning was huge and delicious. All in all, a solid 10/10 and we’ll definitely be back again next year."
