"Stayed at Hotel Riu Plaza Manhattan Times Square recently and honestly came away disappointed. The property feels pretty run down compared to the pictures online. Rooms are extremely small even by NYC standards, and the overall hotel lacked basic amenities you would expect at this price point. No pool, no spa, and not even simple touches like slippers in the room. The stay felt more bare-bones than premium. Location is convenient for Times Square, but overall the experience did not match...

"Hotel St.James is a small, quiet hotel. The room was small but comfortable. The location is phenomenal. There are two subway stations within a 4 minute walk and the 42nd Street Times Square subway station is within a 15 min walk. The air conditioner is a window mounted unit and is very loud and moderately functional. Housekeeping kept the room spotless and well stocked. Housekeeping was provided every day. "The place was better than I expected. Small room but clean and had a window, closet, and TV. The street noise was the loudest I've ever experienced in a hotel. I managed with it okay, but others may not. Great location. Walls are thin, but the beds are comfortable. I knew about the shared bathrooms so that was fine with me. I think there for 5 bathrooms on my floor, so plenty to choose from. Luggage storage was nice. I'll be back."
