"Unique property as each room has a different theme. I particularly enjoy the overall Nyonya, Peranakan vibes to the hotel. It was by the road but not noisy. Convenient location to explore Georgetown as well, walkable to many places."

"Areca Hotel was delightful, full of character, so much nicer than the high rise hotels we have been staying in so far on this trip. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, not only with a welcome drink, but an invitation to afternoon tea each afternoon of our stay. The room was small, but adequate and freshened every day inclcluding clean towels etc."

"Arrived late on the check in date but was greeted with tea time even though it was after tea time session. stay was excellent with clean and quiet bedroom. breakfast was great as well with mixture of local and western food. overall a great stay within a great location. things to improve: cant lock toilet door, and the sliding door is noisy. parking is also inconvenient."

"A beautiful, historic facility and fantastic staff that take care of all your needs. The rooms can use updating and the A/C in our 1st room was too weak (the staff moved us into another room that had better a/c) but restaurants are a short walk away and again, the staff are great. "

"First, it looks very high class, nice design, clean and comfort. You can rest assured that your stay will be pleasant and enjoyable. The rooms are designed with comfort in mind, offering cozy beds and pillows. However, they provide two pillows only. I wish to have extra pillows. "Stayed here for 3 nights while in George Town. Not central but only a 7 min ride to centre and not expensive via grab. I thought I booked with breakfast but arrived and none in my room. But ok as I looked at breakfast and didn’t look good so went out and bought at coffee shop round corner. Room was clean and water each day. Staff friendly and held bags when arrived early and stayed later. Would have wished the staff would turn down the volume on their walkie talkie machines as each morning...
