"If this isn’t the most expensive place in town, it must be pretty close. We were lucky, we feel, to get a room in the modern extension. It was a corner room and remarkable. The girl at the front desk tried to upgrade us for money and with her accent I couldn’t quite understand what the benefit to a different room would have been. It is hard for me to imagine a bedroom at this hotel. We used the spa and it is quite lovely and recently redone. However, a few of the features were not in operation,...

"I thought this hotel was fantastic, I loved my room, they had a great fitness room and pool area, the staff was excellent, and the restaurant and bar was outstanding. Both the food and drink, and the staff were wonderful, thank you love to come stay again."

"We got an update and room was fab. Lovely decor and bathroom and shower excellent. Loved the wee touches like espresso machine and towel robes. Hotel staff amazing, especially the waiters in the restaurant. Gorgeous lounge, bar and library with lots of comfy seating and beautiful views over the grounds. Pool and sauna etc really great. "Old coaching in so plenty of character. Unfortunately this also meant no lift so a bit of a struggle to upstairs rooms with a heavy suitcase. Staff were all friendly and efficient and the included breakfast offered plenty of variety. I ate dinner in the bar lady night and the lamb was really excellent. There is parking but I’m not sure if there is space if every room is filled. There’s also a spa on site but I didn’t have time to try it."

"Had a nice stay for our anniversary. Good suggestions for local walks. Wine and food was nice. It was a little disappointing that they did not do anything to mark our 10 year wedding anniversary and we had put a note on our booking. Drinks are quite expensive £6.50 for a pint/£10 for prosseco glass"
