The lush scenery of this cool, green area makes it astoundingly beautiful. It is a long journey to reach the estate, but the view once you arrive is among the most amazing in Malaysia.
The treacherous trail of Mount Irau are awaiting avid adventure lovers. Be sure that you are fit and dressed accordingly, with more than enough supplies packed, as this is not the easiest trek. It does however take you through an untouched area of the highlands. While this area may have amazing sights and sounds, a guide is highly recommended as the forest can be confusing.
Parit Fall is a majestic cascading waterfall found within the recreational nature park at Kampung Sedia. Playgrounds are present to kips your kids entertained, while the landscaped gardens are serene and relaxing. After just a short distance into the park, you will encounter Parit Fall. The vertical drop can be reached in under half an hour. It is a great place to picnic thanks to the atmosphere and greenery, however the brown waters discourage many from swimming.
While in Tanah Rata, you shouldn’t miss out on trying the various varieties of Tom Yam. This local soup is served primary in chicken and herbal varieties, although we recommend that you try both. A clear soup served by the locals is also available.
Nyonya dining in Tanah Rata allows you to enjoy an authentic Malaysian meal in a traditional simple space. The flavours are exotic and bold. You should be on the lookout for dishes such as Perut ikan, a spicy stew similar to asam pedas, and Laksa lemak which gives you a spicy noodle soup made with coconut gravy, prawns, cockles and lime.
