"It was a short stay for my family as we prepared for my daughter’s graduation. Close to UCSD, clean, in a good location, parking was good and friendly staff. One of my rooms wasn’t ready and they comped my parking for the delay."

"Our stay at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar was comfortable and convenient. The property is beautifully landscaped and feels upscale without being pretentious. The room was clean and well-appointed, with a comfortable bed, quiet atmosphere, and a pleasant view. Staff were courteous and responsive to requests, though some interactions could be improved for consistency."

"The room was clean but bathroom small and low grade feel. The room had a chemical cleaning smell. It was also in an odd area—almost an industrial work park area. Indoor food area small and closes early as well as bar. Food was ok. Not thrilled with the stay."

"Was given a room right next to the elevator and you could hear the mechanics of it in the room. Not only that but if you sat on the couch you could feel it. Called the front desk and was told nothing could be done because they were sold out. Not their fault but still a pain to hear it everytime someone used the elevator."

"We appreciated the welcoming staff - often similar sized hotels only have 1 person at check-in but Ayres had 2 and they were efficient. They offered cookies in the evening and a very nice breakfast in the morning. We also took advantage of the weight room and jacuzzi. Finally, despite being close to the freeway, it was very quiet."

"Utterly disgusted by the front desk here. They will Straight up lie to your faces. The air conditioning shuts off in the middle of the night because it's on a sensor, leaving you randomly hot and sweaty, it's also INCREDIBLY loud. Do not recommend."
