"Be prepared that military jets do fly-over training late into the evening. It's very loud as the jets fly directly over the hotel. In addition to the jets, they gave me a room directly on the main busy street which was loud with traffic. The grounds are pretty but the room was very dated, had an odd smell, and I checked out a day early. I am grateful that they refunded my last night's stay. So the staff was fine, but the property is not as advertised."

"From the front desk to the maintenance guys. Every employee was friendly and very accommodating. The private beach is very well maintained. The restaurants were great. We were very pleased and we will return."

"Overall, I liked the hotel. I have never stayed at a hard rock hotel. It looked very exquisite. The only thing is I was expecting to have a city view and I was put in a room with the view of the courtyard that was disappointing. Besides that the hotel was OK I probably wouldn’t stay at it again given another chance to go to San Diego, I would look for other hotels, but since it was last minute, the hard rock was decent as far as price and location. I give it 3 stars"

"The hotel is in an excellent location. Well staffed, service is top notch. Parking is very safe. The room has a beautiful view of the city. The furniture very worn, needs to be updated. Bathroom was clean. We did find some flossing sticks from previous guest just under the bed. All things considered we would stay again. We will look a bit closer, have housekeeping finish cleaning from previous guest. The furniture is something they will hopefully update in the near future, not a deal breaker."
