"I loved everything about the property. Easily walkable and so beautifully thought out. All the staff were very helpful, attentive, and friendly. The pool was a nice enough temperature to cool you down but not freezing, and it was so expansive there was room for everyone. It was nice to see them cleaning the pool throughout the day to keep it as fresh as possible. Our room was perfectly presented, clean, and had everything we could possibly need. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and so my husband and I were given a room upgrade, which made our stay even more outstanding, but we were even treated to champagne and chocolate strawberries on our arrival and on our last evening we were gifted more treats. We couldn’t have felt more special."

"Large resort with lovely covered walkways throughout the resort. Very serene and family friendly. Several pools to enjoy and great snorkelling right off of the beach! Remember to bring beach shoes as the beach has some rocky areas. There is a doubled decker bus that runs every 15 minutes or so, that stops at the lobbies of each of the 6 sister resorts. You can also walk from one end of the sister resorts to the other end in about 20 minutes. Lots of choice at the food buffets and beach side snack bars. You must be dried off and wearing a shirt or other cover up clothing to eat at the beach side snack bars. You cannot take food back to the beach. The a la carte restaurants were all very good as well, lots of choice on the menus. Book your a la carte reservations at guest services immediately upon arrival. There is a mall in the middle of the resort with a Mexican Plaza next door for all souvenir shopping needs. Strikers is a sports bar (all ages welcomed) that is opened 24 hours a day with food and beverages available, located in the mall just off of the Caribe lobby. The only thing missing at this resort, in my opinion, is a coffee bar but there are different types of coffees available at the buffets and beach side snack bars. If you are looking for a relaxing place to unwind, this is the perfect resort!"

"Catalonia Riviera Maya can be a good option if you’re visiting Quintana Roo on a budget, but there are a few things to keep in mind before booking. First, there isn’t a traditional beach—just a small bay where you can swim. It’s still enjoyable, but it may not meet expectations if you’re looking for long sandy stretches. Restaurant reservations are quite limited. For example, during our 9-night stay, we were only able to book 4 dinners. You can try going to the restaurants around 6 PM to check for last-minute availability (often around 9 PM), but it’s not guaranteed. Also, meals are restricted to one appetizer, one main course, and one dessert per person. Rooms are decent if you book a deluxe option, though they could definitely use some renovations. The resort grounds are well-maintained, and most of the staff are friendly, though we did encounter a few less welcoming interactions. Food overall is average—definitely edible, but not a highlight of the stay. On the positive side, the spa and gym facilities are excellent. The Italian restaurant stood out with great service, especially from Alejandra and Lucas. Overall: A decent budget-friendly resort with some trade-offs, especially in dining and beach quality."
