Well managed hotel

Super clean ! Good location. Small kitchen with microwave and little range, frefrigerator etc. The front rooms are a noisy during the day but very quiet at night.

Villa Elena is a basic accommodation at a very reasonable cost located very close to the main area of Isla Mujeres but far enough away to be quiet. Very clean and good and prompt communication. Highly recommended.

We loved the location and easy access to the central commercial area. Close enough to walk, but tucked back enough for some calm and quiet. Room was clean and comfortable. Easy access to drinking water. Next time we will splurge for a balcony view!

Great sea view and sound. Fifteen min walk to beach. Easy check/out. Close walk to ferry and restaurants/shopping. Sound carries in the hallway so one neighbor was really loud our first night early in the morning and kept us up. After that, it was a respite from the rest of the island bustle.

Lovely clean room, though our room window was straight onto the road so had to keep curtains shut. Super clean and friendly though terrace is neglected which is a shame.

Our stay at villa elena was perfect. Suite 5 was lovely, ocean waves crashing all night, room was spotless upon arrival, and bed sheets made each night. Air conditioner worked perfect. Close to amenities and no road nice. Comfy king bed.

We were fortunate to stay in Suite 5 and enjoyed a stunning view and a very comfortable bed. The kitchen facilities are very basic which worked for our purposes. the location is very walkable to town and beaches and having afternoon shade on the deck was welcoming. All of the staff we interacted with were very helpful.

This place was absolutely amazing and I can't wait to do back! We stayed in Suite 6- a large room with a huge balcony right on the water. We had nonstop Caribbean br The kitchenette was very helpful to have and the bathroom was well appointed. Even the bed and pillows were great. The staff were what really shined. Everyone was so attentive and helpful at check in and during our stay. They even called a doctor for me when I hurt myself falling off a boat. I love this place and would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, safe, customer-focused, family-run place to stay on the island.

Perfect for a quick trip

I liked that this place is within walking distance from the ferry station and that you don't need to turn on the A/C at night, just leave the balcony door open. The owners are very friendly and the room was very comfortable. The bed maybe too soft for my taste, but I would definitely go back!

Our suite (#6) has a gorgeous view of the sunrise over the Caribbean Sea. Bright room with spacious balcony. Laida (staff member on site) was extremely friendly and helpful.

The place was very close to restaurants and the beach. The staff never bothered us to clean the unit they cleaned it while we were out. The place had a little kitchenette but we didn’t get kitchen towels until we asked and we were given a hand towel haha it worked.

Nice and friendly check-in. But little to no service thereafter. No change of bed sheets. Very simple room. I didn’t like the shampoo, funny smell. Rooftop patio OK, but not nice atmosphere, usually very windy, good views.

AMAZING 10/10

Exceptional stay. Staff were amazing. Check in a breeze. Room was massive with the most amazing waterfront deck (suite 5). Property and room were so clean and well cared for. The location!!! was the best! just a short walk in to Centro with beachs, restaurants, bars. Super cute coffee shop (with morning yoga) just 1 minute down the road. Coffee was exceptional. We onlt nbooked two nights here as this was somewhat last minute and we were dissapointed that we had to leave.

Great view from room 6. See the sun rise and shade in the evening. Very large walk in shower and everything worked as it should. The bad is the old louvered room doors that let all the sound from the rest of the house in and any sounds coming from your room out. Properties near Villa Elena are rundown and some are even just piles of old building materials.

Our third (or fourth?) stay at this amazing property. I dream of the million dollar ocean views from suites 4 and 5 and the inner rooms are super convenient for family or group travel. (We stayed in the bottom suite this time—5, I think). The balconies on both ocean facing suites are amazing—perfect for relaxing to the sound of the waves, watching the sunrise, and viewing diving pelicans and other birds. The beds are new as of May ‘25 and extremely comfortable, with outlets built in to the headboards. The full kitchen (including a regular sized coffee pot) makes quick breakfasts and snacks easy for lazy room time. The property provides drinking water, which is a huge bonus. The safe is large enough for a full sized laptop. The property itself is a very quick 10 minute walk from the shops and restaurants in Centro as well as a 10 minute walk to the bay-side bus stop and taxi pick up point. It’s a great compromise between staying downtown and staying mid island. Finally, I can’t say enough nice things about the wonderful staff. They are always available and responsive to What’s App messages and are so incredibly helpful. I don’t think I’m allowed to mention names, but the same folks have been working there since we started coming 6 years ago. (You know who you are and we love you!) We love Villa Elena and its always our go-to when it’s available for our trip dates.

It is our first time on Isla Mujeres and we stayed here for 5 nights. All of the staff were wonderful and kind. Our room (standard room #4) was large, bright, and clean! Unfortunately the bed was a quite hard and I would not want to have slept on it longer than we did. It was also incredibly loud with people passing by on their scooters and golf carts, but only from around 9am to 9pm. The rooftop view was stunning, and I appreciated the 12-15 minute walk into town along the seawall. All in all would definitely recommend! P.S. if you need an extra blanket, just ask. Also leave the boiler on for 10 minutes before taking a shower and you'll be good to go!

Fantastic overall. The ocean view room has a magnificent view. Truly. However, this room has NO BLACK OUT CURTAIN AT ALL on one entire half of the room. You WILL wake up to am extremely bright room and perhaps not be able to get back to sleep. Ive never seen a hotel with such a lack of a proper curtain. They have a terrific one for one side of the large window, but NONE on the second half. Very strange. Kitchen and everything else pretty good, except the bathroom which had poor pressure in the shower and bathroom sink. Also, not much hot water in the bathroom sink. And low pressure. But price was good for April. Location very good. But you will have to walk places. But not far. But it is quiet. The host is fantastic. Great guy. My room needed several issues looked at, such as the sliding glass door lock about to fall off. The balcony is glorious quiet and private. The best part is the balcony and the shocking huge ocean view. But youll have to deal with some wood beams stacked up off to the side. I totally dodnt mind because the balcony and view were so outstanding. And the price was very good at the time. I stayed for three nights because i loved the view so much.

Beautiful view

First and foremost, the staff was all very kind. The view from the room was beautiful, even the shower had a beautiful view. It was amazing watching the sunrise from bed and hearing the waves. If you choose to stay here I would recommend renting a golf cart, even though it is not extremely far from everything, it is at the top of a small hill, and about a 15 minute walk from North Beach. I loved the balcony, but it was absolutely covered in bird poop, including the furniture. I know they cannot control that but I do feel like it should be a part of the cleaning process/room maintenance. The wifi was spotty at times so I would not recommend relying on it for a work trip. My biggest issue was the horrible water pressure in the shower, it was basically a trickle and extremely difficult to wash my hair. And the hot water only lasted for 5 minutes so my showers were extremely rushed or I would end up freezing, which is not fun on a beach vacation when you need to wash off sand or shave your legs, etc. The AC worked well, the bed was fairly comfortable. But because of the shower/hot water issue I would not choose to stay again.

5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When we arrived we were greeted warmly by a young woman named Leira! She checked us in and showed us to our room. What a surprise! The studio is huge, with a kitchen, huge terrace with incredible ocean views and a very nice bathroom. Daily cleaning service was a nice surprise as well. Communication with Clara, the he owner/manager was lovely and warm. She came by our place and delivered coffee personally which was so sweet. We loved the location because it’s minutes to the heart of the Centro, but removed from all of the hubbub. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again. We visit the island twice a year!
