"Room was clean with a beautiful view. The pool was nice and used by all but would be nice to have some covered area for when it's sprinkling or raining to protect towels and such. Having the restaurant downstairs was also fantastic with excellent service. Front desk staff was helpful. Good location."

"This is an older hotel, no a/c or elevator, still uses keys, looks beat down from the hallway. Nice clean pool and direct access to some lava rock tide pools. TBH the view of the bay and the sound of the waves made it worth it- but Iād sleep in my car for that sound! Microwave and fridge came in handy. A low cost option for Hilo."

"The SCP Hilo is a cute motel with a nice lobby and pool area. The staff are amazing-helpful and kind. The fitness area just has two Peloton bikes which is not great for those of us who donāt like biking, but I knew this before making a reservation. The bikes and paddle boards available for guests is a nice touch. The room itself is quite basic and a little small for more than two people, but it was comfortable."
