"very beautiful old building with lots of character, in the heart of the city, surrounded with lovely pubs and wine bars and next to the stunning cathedral. Comfortable modern rooms and great restaurant. Polite helpful staff and great food. Was a bit disappointed that we were given two menus (one was a set menu) and told that the chef 'may' permit you to swap starters, only to be told by the waiter that took our order, I couldn't swap my starter! Only watch out is if you have difficulty walking,...

"Difficult to decide what would raise this from a 3 star to 4 star hotel apart from larger rooms, bathrooms, TV screen & extra furniture because everyhthing in the hotel was beyond what we expected. Good choice in menu (although fresh filter coffee rather than the machine Americano would have been preferable), well prepared & the portions generous. We expect to go back on another occasion. "
