"Great hotel for the price. Location is excellent. The hotel is funky because it's spread across 6 non-contiguous townhouses. My king room was very clean and quiet, and the air conditioning/ heat was great. The bed was comfortable and the room was relatively large. Downside is that they clean the rooms every other day and there was no desk to sit at, chair or bench to sit on or a place to put your suitcase (besides on the floor). I spent 6 nights there so it was problematic for me when I wanted to do work on my laptop. The room could have used some touch up painting and re-caulking. Staff is very friendly and nice. There is a lift."

"On arrival no greeting, receptionist treated us as an inconvenience, not friendly boarding on rude. Told us our room was in the west wing but no instructions on how to get there, we lef tthe desk and askes concierge he was also ride and said down there. No smiles or interaction. Pretty dissapointing. The room was dirty, dusty and chewing gum uner the bedsde table, im sure its still there, i did not remove it. Pretty disappointing for a 4 star hotel, expected more Although i will say the staff in the cafe were lovely"

"The Cumberland was a decent hotel overall. The bed was somewhat comfortable, you could feel its age and the underpinnings were lumpy and uncomfortable. The bathroom was clean but there were spots on the ceiling that raised some eyebrows. Gym was clean and well stocked. Reception was overall very helpful except for delays in housekeeping/maintenance arriving to solve a plumbing issue. Great value for money for London and the location for time of year."
