"Great for one night"

"Grays Court is a beautiful and truly unique place to stay in York. The staff were warm and friendly, the accommodations were full of historic character, and the gorgeous garden made the property feel especially peaceful. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and incredibly generous. I enjoyed toast, tea, orange juice, and a full British breakfast. The location is perfect for exploring historic York on foot. "The inn certainly couldn't help the fact that York was experiencing record heat at the time we were staying. Unfortunately, the triple room is on the top floor, with no air conditioning (not usually necessary in the U.K.) and not much ventilation - and we were in it. If we had come in spring, autumn, or winter, the story would probably be different. As it was, it was near impossible to sleep in the heat, with very little relief from it. All that said, the hotel was clean and the staff helpful....

"Lovely apartment in a historic building, ideally located just outside the city centre, but within easy walking distance of all places of interest in York. Nice touch of leaving a bottle of bubbly in the fridge - a good sign that the hosts are attentive. The apartment itself is well furnished and equipped, and really does feel like a home from home. Overall, thoroughly recommended."

"The hotel is perfectly placed in the centre of York and easy to get to. The staff were lovely and were able to accommodate giving us a lower-level room, which was so helpful (especially when pregnant in a heatwave!). There were lots of options available in the mini bar as well as teas, coffees, etc. The room was very comfortable and clean - we will definitely return next time we come to York."
