"The location is really good. Its just a short walk into york. Free parking was a bonus. The room itself was nice but the pictures advertised on Expedia were definitely a false representation of the actual room. I chose the room as it stated it had a four poster bed and a bath with jets. Image my disappointment when i walked in and found a normal bed and a walk in shower with no bath in sight. I spoke with the owner who seemed unaware the rooms details had not been updated. "Positives: -Incredibly friendly staff -good inclusive breakfast -lots of free parking Negatives: - very expensive room price for amenities - very dated room, cracked floor tiles, broken toilet seat etc - rock hard pillows - springy mattress - small double bed - no aircon - wall heater or window for air"

"The room was meant to be soundproof but could hear next door for starters, then we seen it wasn’t a king size bed but two single beds put together which wasn’t very comfortable to say the least. Also two of the rooms I’d say are used for permanent residence. Then passing pedestrians through the night was noisy was irritating to say the least. We couldn’t work the heating system for the room. "

"We enjoyed an excellent overnight stay at the B+B York. Helpful, cheerful staff and a breakfast to savour. The city centre was a 10 minute stroll away. Parking on the premises was a bonus Absolutely no complaints,"

"Last minute booking as decided to stay overnight in York. Communication for check in was quick, property was easy to find, close to town and super clean and tidy. Had a relaxing stay and would definitely consider again next time we were in York. Small supermarket and Mrs Greedy’s at end of road was excellent for supplies and a quick cooked breakfast. "

"Not very good, when the bar closed at 11pm the night staff on reception was serving on the bar absolutely clueless, must of had no handover of the bar couldn’t find the sparklers for the beer pumps. Should have 2 people to work on the night shift was running around like a headless chicken. Very poor service would not stay again."

"Perfect location for a quick weekend getaway and just a short walk from the main attractions. Lovely hotel!"

"I have stayed at the Minster Hotel before the rooms are beautiful breakfast plentiful and variety of fresh yogurt grapefuit apple cereals plus a hearty english breakfast cooked to order and staff very accommodating and friendly. The stairs are my only issue and i suggest u try and get a room on a lower level but other than that a fantastic hotel close to all that York has to offer. "
