"We had a really good stay. The cottage is beautiful and equipped with absolutely everything you could ever need. Our son really enjoyed the garden, in particular the Wendy House which was also kitted out with toys, which was a lovely bonus. The village is peaceful but perfect for a nice walk. We would thoroughly recommend the property and would stay again. "

"On arrival our host, Mal, gave us a warm welcome. Our room was spotless with added touches such as fresh flowers, chocolates and refrigerated bottled water. There was an good choice for breakfast, all excellently freshly cooked by Mal. We stayed for five nights and felt very much at home. We would thoroughly recommend staying here."

Dining options allow formal or informal dining. The Spa offers good quality treatments and the whole experience left me refreshed, relaxed and delighted to have spent time there. "We wanted somewhere reasonably priced but clean and not too far away from York races and the train stations. This is exactly what we got. The added bonus was the staff were amazing! Thank you! "

"Was disappointed to find that there was no available gym in the hotel, even though it is advertised as such. The sofa bed in the room was broken, as was the air-conditioning. Staff attempted to fix it but didn’t make a difference. When we visited, there was a pile of mattresses sitting in the lobby. Surely there’s a better way to manage this. We shared our complaints with staff at the hotel but they showed little interest so I hope management will take note "
