"The room was meant to be soundproof but could hear next door for starters, then we seen it wasn’t a king size bed but two single beds put together which wasn’t very comfortable to say the least. Also two of the rooms I’d say are used for permanent residence. Then passing pedestrians through the night was noisy was irritating to say the least. We couldn’t work the heating system for the room. "

"Excellent family run hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was cooked individually when ordered and not pre cooked left to dry out on the side. Only five minutes from the Minster so easy to come and go. Would thoroughly recommend."

"Our 2nd stay at The Jorvik. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean with an excellent shower. We chose not to have a breakfast tray as there are plenty of eating options nearby. The minibar was very well stocked. "

"A picture can tell a thousand lies. The staff were cold and non committal. The room was worn and had an odour. I paid extra for a balcony and had a view of a parking lot and a dumpster(skip). Definitely not worth the money. I also had to pay £15 for the parking. There are far better options in York "
