"This place is completely unkept in an area that is not convenient nor safe feeling. We entered the house and found the first room to be slightly acceptable with the attached bathroom. The second room we reserved was not cleaned which could have been a mistake but the had it “cleaned” in about 5 minutes. And the thing they don’t tell you is you share a bathroom with 5 other rooms, not one. Not good at all."

I would encourage anyone considering this property to read the accommodation details very carefully. I was disappointed to discover that the bathroom and shower were shared, as this was not sufficiently clear to me before I booked. If I had realised this in advance, I would have chosen different accommodation.
The lack of clarity significantly affected my stay and left me feeling misled. If having a private bathroom is important to you, I strongly recommend...

"The room had a bad smell , booked a double room and had a small double bed , the shower constantly backed up and was either freezing or boiling and had no water pressure and made a loud rattling noise whenever it was on and was also filthy. You could hear everything in the rooms around us and the could hear the people above us walking round the room all night."

"The location at the bottom of the street near the Cowgate was ok but I needed to take into account the incline up to the high street.
Closeness to station and transport is good.
Breakfast adequate for the day’s excursions.
Needed to get to bus station and did it in 20mins. At 80 years of age I was proud of myself!
There were many senior citizens in the building.
My only criticism would be not knowing the layout and procedure for food etc all doable."
