Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Tokyo - Roppongi

Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Tokyo - Roppongi

10/10 Excellent
"The location is phenomenal. You can walk anywhere. The rooms are decent sized for Japan and the bathroom is big. The Rappongi area is not as hip now but that's OK. There are so many restaurants and shopping that if you get bored, it's your fault. The BLT Steakhouse on the property is outstanding. Just be prepared to enjoy your stay!"

"We had a great stay. It is very conveniently located close to the train station which was a big plus. There is also a drug store and convenience store located within the building. The staff were also very friendly and helpful with forwarding our luggage to our next stay. We will definitely be staying here again."

"As we were scheduled to arrive early morning, we contacted the hotel to ask if the room could be ready early, failing which, if we use the leisure facilities to change. On arrival, we were told the room would be ready at 3pm and after some debate allowed us to use the changing rooms at the pool, across the road. We went out for the day and arrived back at 2.30pm, by which time the lobby was quite full with others waiting for their rooms. At 3pm we were told we could check in and formed an orderly queue with everyone else. The reception and bar areas are formal - impressive to look at and ideal for business meetings, not so welcoming for a leisure trip. The hotel is clean, the rooms clean, modern and comfortable, and having paid for club access, the lounge area is excellent. Unfortunately for us, we were delayed on a tour in traffic and arrived back at the hotel at 9.45pm by which time the restaurant, bar, club lounge and even room service had finished. The hotel and the staff were great but the systems / times were inflexible and unexpected. Not sure if this is the way this hotel works or is common to Japan but it seems very unaccommodating."

The Okura Tokyo

The Okura Tokyo

10/10 Excellent
"The Okura Tokyo’s Heritage wing was the perfect hideaway for our four day adventure in Tokyo. It’s impeccably clean and stylish, maintaining a traditional ambiance without neglecting luxury. Staff could always be found and were attentive and well-mannered. The many different breakfast options made for a treat to start the day. The Starlight bar especially stood out, giving panoramic views of the Tokyo skyline that took our breath away. Without a doubt, don’t miss grabbing a window seat, a nice drink, and some small bites at Starlight to take in the Tokyo cityscape, a seemingly never-ending stretch of buildings that’ll keep your eyes glued to the scenery. Opting for a room with balcony and garden view, we were very pleased with our stay. The placement next to the US embassy and office buildings might seem off-putting, but the garden view and comfortable accommodations distracted from them. All together, the Heritage wing certainly meets the luxury standard and is worth the price point."
