"Understanding that it's a budget option business hotel and not a fancy resort, this place was amazing. Very cheap during rainy season, and the lady at the reception was very nice. She didn't speak a lot of English and we didn't speak a lot of Japanese, but we made it work. Our rooms were bigger than usual for Japan, even though it was cheap. There was a vending machine and free coffee in the lobby."

"Check in took a long time! I booked two rooms, but one was double booked. When we opened the door we found other guest’s stuff! Very confused! In the other room, refrigerator was empty. As a Hyatt member, i always was given free 2 bottle per room in other Hyatt places. This place refused to give nothing! Very bad experience ever!"

"We had a wonderful stay at The Hotel Higashiyama Kyoto Tokyu! The room was very nice and comfortable, and the bathroom was absolutely fantastic. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. The hotel is in a great location for exploring Kyoto, and we also really enjoyed the restaurant and bar, which were both excellent. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend this hotel!"
