"Everything was great about this place, the location felt safe and we were very comfortable. the only reason we had one less star was because we did find a tiny roach in our room on the first night. we were able to remove it and didn’t see anything after that. Property is otherwise very well kept."
"This is my go to spot when staying in Monterey. Good price. Although, be aware that there is a bit of traffic noise, occasionally planes & thin walls in the room. But location is convenient, in the middle of everything which makes it nice to get to pg, marina, seaside, etc… My only complaint was my rooms showerhead the pressure was weak and barely any water would come out. But other than that I’ve never had an issue staying at el castell. Would recommend to others looking for a nice convenient...
"I was given the option of room downstairs or upstairs. I chose downstairs due to my plantar fasciitis. Big mistake!! You could hear the loud footsteps from the room upstairs! I did not have a restful sleep. Upon checking out I informed this to the front desk clerk. And her reply was “ I know”.. so if they are aware, then they should’ve given me a room upstairs or NOT have someone take the room directly upstairs from me. After an 8 hour drive, I was expecting a restful, undisturbed sleep."
