"I had a pretty good overall stay here. The location is definitely a big plus—it’s about an 8-minute drive to the aquarium, which made getting around super easy. The room itself was clean and comfortable, and the hotel is very kid-friendly. My 6-year-old had a great time, especially with the pool and hot tub. The pool is open late, which is nice, although it was advertised as heated and didn’t really feel like it. The hot tub was a nice bonus and stayed open until 9pm. Breakfast was simple but convenient—options included cereal, instant oatmeal, bagels with cream cheese, along with juices, coffee, and tea. Nothing fancy, but it did the job. That said, this is definitely more of a family-oriented hotel than a quiet or romantic getaway spot. The walls and ceilings are very thin—you can hear just about everything. I heard kids running, doors slamming, people walking around, and even someone using the bathroom early in the morning. If you’re a light sleeper, this might be a bit of a challenge. Overall, I would still stay here again because the price was reasonable for what you get, especially if you’re traveling with kids and want something convenient and budget-friendly."

"Dated, hairs in bathroom on check in. Room had a musty smell. Heated pool wasn’t very warm and was not usable. "

"The location is great. However, the property is shabby and outdated. The carpet in our room was worn/torn to the floor next to the bed. The carpet in the hallways is worse. Our room was on the ground floor facing the very noisy street so we really couldn’t sit on the patio (and couldn’t find a light out there). We somehow ended up with an accessible room, which is fine. The bathroom was clean but the hand held shower head wouldn’t stay positioned while showering."

"I stayed in the historical side of the building since I had a dog. The room was spacious but definitely old. Electrical outlets were loose and kept falling off, and keycards were not working properly. The lights are dim. There are parking lots that offer free parking from 6 pm to 9 am, and are able to park overnight for free."

"La Bahía was a really good choice for our honeymoon. The location is excellent, right across from the Santa Cruz pier and beach, and the property felt newly renovated. Everything looked clean, fresh, and updated. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and the room itself was spacious and comfortable. We chose a partial ocean view instead of an accessible room because we wanted the better view, and it still worked well for us. For accessibility, the carpet was thick but manageable, the doorways were easy to get through in a manual chair, and the room felt spacious enough to navigate comfortably. The hotel is also right off the main street, which made it easy to roll up and down the boardwalk. There is an automatic door button outside the building, though not one inside, but staff were usually quick to help. The pool and hot tub were standout amenities. The pool had a chair lift available, which I appreciated seeing even though I did not use it. The hot tub was especially easy to use. The hand rails made it much easier for me to lift myself up, move my legs over, and get settled without dealing with slippery tile or awkward entry. Room service was also very good. The only downside during our stay was High Tide. We waited about 35 minutes for one plate of pesto rigatoni, and the interaction afterward with the waitress and manager felt a little awkward. Overall, we really enjoyed the stay and would absolutely come back."
