"We loved staying here, great rate over the thanksgiving weekend. The pool was really nice and the parking convenient, cheap and right on site. "We rented the room just for 12 hours due to a flight change. We had never stayed at the Royal but here are my take aways: Very clean. "We loved our stay for our family of 4! We had access to several different pools and restaurants. The pool was a tad cold for my liking but the kids didn’t seem to mind. You’re right at the beach which is amazing. There’s a free shuttle to whaler’s village which is a huge perk. We stayed in a one bedroom condo and having a full kitchen was amazing. We will definitely be back! "

"The cooking station downstairs allowed for easier food costs compared to eating out every meal and the free laundry mat helped out with the return to home. Pool was fun and they had plenty of events throughout the week like free snowcones and live music. The staff was always friendly especially when there was a problem. A great place to stay!"

Behold... Puu Pehe, known as “Sweetheart Rock”. This is Lanai’s most notable landmark and the setting for one of Hawaii’s epic legends. Story goes a hottie princess from Maui was "captured" by a young warrior from Lanai. He made her his wife and he was so smitten with her beauty and... apparently so insecure that he was afraid to let other men see her so kept her in a sea cave near the rock when he was away. One day the weather suddenly changes, the surf slams the area, and... yup, one less princess. The warrior rushed back to the cave, but it was too late, he climbed the steep rock where he buried her in a tomb and then overcome with grief leapt to his death. Moral of story might be... um, don't abduct women and lock them in caves.
