The bed was extremely uncomfortable, which is surprising and not what you’d expect from a hotel of this caliber. On top of that, the resort charges for beach chairs and umbrellas ($75!/day), and while they offer “cheaper” Tommy Bahama chairs for $30+, it feels absurd that such a property nickel-and-dimes guests this way. There’s also a mandatory $50 resort fee, which seems to just cover access to the pool and towels. Also, be aware that there's a $50 daily parking fee.
The towel system itself is frustrating; service only runs 9am–6pm, you have to track towels with cards, and if you don’t return them in time you’re stuck going to the front desk after hours. For a supposed luxury resort, it felt unnecessarily complicated and inconvenient.
On the positive side, the restaurants and food were very good, and the hotel really came through when our return flight was delayed 7+ hours. They allowed us a late checkout at no extra charge and even gave us a timed-room later in the day to shower and get ready, which was greatly appreciated.
Overall, while there were some highlights, the comfort and guest experience fell short of what we expected for a “luxury” stay.
