"The location of this hotel is incredible. The views of the Tower bridge breathtaking. The food, the drinks, everythingโ€™s walkable โ€” I canโ€™t say enough about it. But, the rooms were a bit outdated. I do know that they were in the middle of a remodel so I have a feeling some of the outdated things are being addressed. All in all, I would stay here again. Very nice."

"I stayed at The Royal National Hotel for one night on Wednesday 7 October. For the price I paid (ยฃ120 for the room, although breakfast was an additional ยฃ30 (what?!), bringing the total to ยฃ150), I canโ€™t really complain. The room was a double overlooking the forecourt. Surprisingly, noise was minimal, although I can imagine it gets considerably noisier at weekends. The en-suite was perfectly adequate, too. My only gripes were the rather weak shower pressure and the fact that the water never quite reached a temperature I would have liked. What really let the stay down, however, was the breakfast offering. The whole operation could best be described as school dinners. Guests have to queue to be seated, with staff chaperoning people around the breakfast room. In all honesty, Iโ€™ve never experienced anything quite like it in a hotel. The room itself was noisy, and there was yet another queue for the breakfast buffet. I found the whole experience rather off-putting, so I decided not to bother with breakfast and instead stave off the hunger until lunchtime. Overall, Iโ€™d describe my stay as very Travelodge-esque. For the price, you canโ€™t complain too much, but I would certainly have preferred the more relaxed ambience of a Premier Inn! Just donโ€™t pay the extra THRITY QUID for breakfast and instead spend that money in a more relaxing cafe nearby."

"All the staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay. The room was very nice and well appointed. We would definitely stay here again. I would say the only downside was the lack of closet space for hanging clothes and lacked any storage space in the bathroom. We had to get inventive."

"Great shower! Beauty rooms were a bust. Overall, noisier--maybe they were herding elephants above us? But also some rumbles were surely the subway beneath-- than we had hoped, and dimmer--too dimly lit-- in common spaces. The room was sufficient, except only bring your closest confidants, the bathroom has ZERO privacy! The beds were comfortable. Price was right for us, if you don't mind the chaos of Picadilly Circus, you can spend your savings on ยฃ5 cans of Coke..."
